Meet my People…

Linsey has been part of the Freeport area for more than 20 years...

She has built a life here with her family and has many community connections. This allows helping families with specific needs a reality. She has a board of directors with a vast set of skills ready and willing to tackle any need.

Linsey’s background in teaching and raising children with trauma provides her with the empathy necessary to meet families where they are at. She is a problem solver who fights for change and is ready for any challenge.

According to Brene Brown, Hope is not as much an emotion as it is a practical cognitive process that helps us work through hardship, doubt and fear. Hope WINS is a system in place to help you do just that!

How Hope WINS was started…

Val Bardell was a local daycare provider in the Freeport area. But, she wasn’t just any daycare provider! Val cared for a variety of students with special needs and had a true heart for these kiddos. When she got sick, 2 of “her kiddos” with special needs were left without summer daycare. This is when “Mac Camp” was born…and this led to the development of Hope WINS. Sadly, Val passed away late last summer and some of her memorial money got Hope Wins off the ground!

Val was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and so much more. She had a true love and passion for people and it showed in everything she did. Hope WINS will strive daily to make her proud and pay it forward.

We are only able to provide resources and opportunities to families with generous donations and support from you! Thank you for considering a donation to Hope WINS!
